Following the excellent POUG thread (Pro-active Online Upgrade (POUG) tracking and discussion 2016 thread) this wikipost is all about fixed price AUP (airport upgrades). AUPs are either offered at check-in at the airport, or (less regularly) in the lounge at the airport upon request. More specifics at the end of this wiki, see below.

How to get a AUP
They are only available on the day of travel from the airport. You cannot ring up for them or arrange it in advance. It is subject to availability of both seats and facilities at the airport concerned.

LHR: If you have lounge access probably the best place to find out in this situation is Galleries Club South lounge, at the customer service desk on the left on entry. (T3 GC equivalent is on the right just past the entrance). It needs a ticket agent, who wear blue name badges, and there is always one on duty there. Sometimes the Flounge / CCR customer service agents are ticketing agents, but that's luck of the draw.

For LGW ask the ticket office at the transit / glass end of zone C. For LCY ask at the customer service desk on the left in the main hall. For most practical purposes, you can't get an AUP once landside in LGW or LCY.

Otherwise you can ask at check-in, they can find out whether it is available and send you to someone else for the ticketing aspects. In T5 you can also check at Zone E since again there is always a ticketing agent on duty there.

For domestic terminals you can also ask at checkin, GLA, EDI and MAN have particular desks for this. For non UK locations, ask at the ticket desk where one exisits, but in many locations there isn't one and you need to ask at the check-in counter. At some locations there is neither a ticket desk nor qualified agents, particularly in Europe, so effectively no AUP is offered at this location. At some locations (YYZ, IAD, JFK) they can be arranged from the lounge.

125€? Are you sure it wasn't 135€? That was the price both in March and April when I flew through the city.

It may have been €125; I didn't look for long as I'd already booked Club. In any case, since there were only 9 in C, there can't have been many takers!

Yep, each check-in counter is equipped with AUP signage. Imagine my pain last time, when the computers were down (so they claimed on 3 different occasions) and staff couldn't sell me an AUP.

Just got a CW to F upgrade for LHR to SIN, please could someone add to the wiki. Thanks.

LHR-SIN: CW to F, LHR, £599 (4/2014)

Looking at other posts this seems to be a typical price for CW to F at LHR on longhaul (NRT, BOS, SIN...)

I agree you can get the J - F upgrade cheaper at outstations, I was just noting that it seems to be £599 for longhaul if buying at LHR. Be interested to hear if anyone has got it cheaper than this ?

I don't have recent info but I asked at ALC twice last year about an airport upgrade for the LGW flight and no one seemed to know what I was talking about.

For LGW-ALC, I've bought an airport upgrade a couple of times and I think it was 89 pounds one way from ET to CE. But again, that was last year.

thanks, added!

sirkay, as you weren't 100% on the price, I haven't added ALC yet.

ajws_83, what was the local price?

March - but the signs are pretty permanent. I've updated the wiki.

they didn't give a price in Indian Rupees...they quoted the price in GBP....but at the current exchange rate it'd be roughly IR39,900

I am there in two weeks now so will report back - fingers crossed - I'll also ask for both legs at LGW on the way out

LHR-DXB

LHR-DXB offered CW>F GBP599 (April). Declined, hoping for a magic beep, but unfortunately had to slum it in 15B
