Forgive my stupidity but I have searched and read all the post from the 1st post. What is the calculation that you used to determine if the TPR is worth it ? Do you take the total amount of Pounds and DIVIDE or MULTIPLY by what number ?

Thanks

It's price per tier point, so price in pounds divided my number of tier points will give you a ratio. Generally a tier point run is something where you are spending £3 or less for each tier point you get. The good ones are less than £2 per tier point, and the really good ones are less than £1.50 per tier point but are generally only the AA/US runs.

Well, I've hit silver via a trip the long way into the USA from HK. I found a trip from DOH to CMB to KUL via a delightful (really, and surprisingly) UL couple of flights on brand new longhaul flat-seat A340s, for $650 USD O/W. Its 180 TP points only (the second leg being too short), but certainly would qualify as under the thread of 3GPB per TP. I'd look at this folks as a pleasant way to build into an Asia tier run. Really first class service in J, thought the fact that the first had only 3 passengers in J and the second only 2 passengers definitely helped. UL definitely moved up my rankings based on service after these flights.

Interesting...

I still get $615 (£378) for 2 stop (i.e. three flight) itineraries and an additional $5 ($620.55, which is £382) on all pricing I check in the summer.

I do see the cheaper fare of $540/$545 = £332-334 in January, but I can't seem to find any differences in the fare rules (although I might be missing something in the surcharge section despite looking carefully - the days I booked do not appear to be on the surcharge list but days which are on the surcharge list seem to price the same for me - ???)

It looks like the higher fare starts on March 7th. I will add this to my post and the wiki.

Thanks for pointing this out!

If one has a short connection time then PHL and PHX are two of the better airports for connecting, both are straightfoward to navigate you just need to walk fast.
I have managed gate to gate in CLT B-C gates in about 15 mins!

Please could someone point me in the right direction - which are the shorthaul + flights earning 20 TP e/w in discount economy.
140TP not crediting from a US airways diversion and mis ticketing has resulted in me ending the year on 2960 TP and a short flit for the extra 40 might come in handy from a qualifying point of view

London to Helsinki, Istanbul, Malta, Marrakech, Thessaloniki (HEL, IST, MLA, RAK, SKG). I'm probably missing one

(Or more than two... ATH and TIA (Tirana) also)

Helsinki has a lot of flights and seen some cheap AY fares recently - though looking at matrix best you could probably do for same day weekend turn is £115 out and €88 back. But BA, AY cheapos gone, so POUG possibilities.

At that price I may be more tempted to go for AMS and hope for a one way POUG

340-400 TP's needed. No rush. USA is fine

Started the research and will look much further
But if someone has the info from multiple prior runs/looks please let me know
Need between 340-400
Based in YYZ
Can easily get to east coast USA
Looks like getting from YYZ to "anywhere" is not god value for money interms of TP collection
Best value seems to be F in 2 class plane USA to USA cities as YYZ only gives business class points and F provides 210......
But basically Looking for 340-400 for as cheap as possible.
Many thanks in advance. Seems like time of year can make big $$ differences

Any of the runs starting in the NE US work, after a positioning flight? Alternatively check the common destinations in above eg SJU, LGB etc. (can see a 310 TP for a bit over C$800 to LGB ex YYZ, but a bit of a waste on the return)

£1.33/TP | £1990 | 1500TPs | ARN-HEL-LHR//LCY-JFK-PHX-HNL-PHX-JFK-LCY//LHR-HEL-ARN | I/J/I/A/A/A/A/I/J/I | Agehall | ILR28AP fare | AY/BA/AA/US

How can I search for the route on ita matrix and book it? I can't get it to fly into heathrow but leave from city and not sure exactly what to put into the search terms
