I have never known anyone be disturbed by it, but I suppose it could happen at some point.

Phoning UK BAEC from France...
Last time I checked, France was most definitely NOT in the UK
However after trying to speak to BAEC via mobile from France, the pre-recorded message I hear states that "this number is for calls made outside the UK" and then disconnects me...not that helpful...
Any ideas?
Regards,
Steve

Despite there being hundreds of years of both countries (well, England rather than the UK on one side) trying to make it otherwise, or trying to make England part of France.

Here's a question for a staffer:
I have a very long layover between longhauls today (05h00 arrival into LHR, departing 13h00), and currently sitting in GC South if anyone wants to invite me to GF or CCR... Am currently Bronze (double-soft landings from Gold due to lack of flying for 2 years), on a Book & Upgrade ticket (U class) into CW for both flight. I inquired before boarding my first flight whether or not I could possibly be switched to an earlier flight, and was told none were available. I figured that was my best chance, but decided to ask again when I got to London, and they said maybe but not if I had a bag checked (which I did). I don't see why this modern, very expensive baggage handling system at T5 can't handle a simple process of moving 1 piece of luggage onto a different flight. So, any chances I had of possibly getting onto an earlier flight were null & void due to this.
Is that actually true, or did this person not actually want to help?

Honestly it didn't matter. Anything sooner than a 7 hour layover getting me to NYC (either airport) would have sufficed. At this point, I'm content sitting around for a couple more hours, buying some things for the wife in Duty Free, but am just wondering if what they told me is actually true?
