From here

What forms of ID do I need to check in at a conventional desk?
A Suitable forms of ID include:

Domestic travel
Credit card, Executive Club card, driving licence, company works card / ID.

Jersey is considered domestic and yes a BAEC does work, used it when I lost my wallet with drivers licence in.

I am supposed to be coming back from Las Vegas that weekend but that's now 50:50 if I go so if not I will come along, as long as you don't mind another lift in the land rover

This was many many many moons ago and I'm not sure what airline it was. But I remember it happening and have always travelled with my passport since. It's the same reason why I don't leave my passport on the car deck when I'm on the ferry. If it sinks, I don't want to be rescued and taken to France and have the hassle of no passport. Far fetched I know but I'm an ex girl guide-be prepared and all that

Never say never. The BA2772 diverted to Dinard today due to cross winds!
