T8191..... well she wouldn't need much fuel on!!!

Largest aircraft that has used JER is a Lockheed L10-11 tristar. Our favourite airline of course, there used to be a few pictures before the terminal was revamped.....

B787......
At 360,000 pounds, the aircraft needs 5,000 feet to take off. At MTOW it needs over 9,000 feet....

Bring your camera!

and some fireproof clothes.

I have to say i'm kind of losing enthusiasm for the semi-proposed BA 787 launch do.

Monsieur T8191....
You reminded me that the Lockheed L10-11 Tristar used to fly LHR-AMS either in the 70's or 80's.....going to AMS today ...on an A320, oh how I wish I was on that Tristar today !

As far as the 787 is concerned, I think I will put that on the backburner - with the A380

Doesn't the 763 still operate LHR-AMS ?

You are of course spot-on (as usual!) ~Cornish Simon....... 767s have returned to some of the shortest of short~haul routes including AMS, GLA and EDI......

and Missdimeaner..... was I Miss, not Lord of the Bears that sparked up about the clanky tri-stars...... great aircraft when they were running..... trouble when you turned them off!!!!

~The dash by RR for light weight engineering with carbon fiber caused horrible financials for them with the tri-star in the 1970s...... lets hope that the B787 hasn't similarly pushed the envelope for boeing.

Never been on one - not to AMS anyhooo, only time I had the misfortune to board a 767 was AA to ORD, it took an hour longer, flying with the crew from hell - IFE from the 1970's with shared screens for a 9.5 hr flight.
They would probably fine for a S/H though

Sounds like 787 has the capacity to be as long lived as the Tristar

The first plane I ever flew on was a DC-10. Back then I had no idea about the various design flaws; probably just as well.

The 787 issues are not unique and i wouldn't be more reluctant to fly on it over any other new aircraft.

I flew the DC10 from LGW-SJU years ago. I was reminded that the DC actually stood for 'Death Cruiser'

Try a TATL in a DC-6, where the in-flight catering was accidentally locked in the hold. PWK-Harmon AFB, 9h 45m of 'drone, drone'.
