Q4 in 2008 when they halved the redemption rates.
2 x F to SFO and back for an extended weekend Christmas 'shopping' on a whim for 150,000 miles. Can't remember what the charges were but they weren't too bad then.
Other than that I like the MFU to CW off WT+ sale fares as you get TPs and most of your avios back. Did a LHR/PHL/BOS/LHR off about £650 plus tips recently.
The European trips are good now too. FRA for 9,000 plus £27 seemed good to me.
Looking hard at a JFK-YVR in CX F.

Last year, before they changed the partner award rules, PEK-HKG (CX J)-stopover, HKG-JFK (CX F), as part of a RTW with Mrs jeffBHD (the rest being on Star rewards)
LHR-JFK (R) -LHR (J) on a 2-4-1 also up there !

Apart from the JFK-DPS flights in F that BBB already mentioned I have been able to book some 'erroneous' redemptions. Twice to NA for 50K return in J. And yes, I did start a topic about it and several others profited from the same 'sale' (not the official half price one we had... once...?)

Back in the 50% Miles sale a few years both myself and the wife had 2-4-1 vouchers (which stacked with the 50% sale). We booked the two of us in F return LHR-MEX for 75k and F return LHR-CPT for 75k which was easily our best ever miles redemptions!

That was in dark days for airlines back in Nov 2008 when premium loads went through the floor. I imagine it is unlikely a 50% miles sale across all cabins will happen again for many years to come!

I don't calculate a value per mile as I would never even consider paying for a ticket in F and even if paying J I would possibly look for a good deal so may not end up on BA.
Best Value - First LHR-BKK-LHR in the 50% sale with a 2-4-1 - 120,000 miles total (we then used BMI miles to go to Tokyo, Hong Kong and back to Bangkok). We also got engaged in Hong Kong.
Best Trip - probably our redemption this December to New York in First where we'll be getting married.

Are all the same and upgrade to j class for 1000 yen or f for 8000 yen although j class is not really anything other than a bigger seat.

Its an easy one for me 75,000 miles and £768.40 for an F return LHR-LAX... for two!
I managed to combine the 2-4-1, with the half price sale back in '08. The offer also allowed me to cancel and rebook another flight to TAB, so we both went to the Carribean in CW too.
So for 125,000 miles and about £1,500, we probably got about £15-20,000's worth of flights

2 F returns to San Francisco in the 50% sale which will probably never be repeated Had 5 hours in the CCR on outward journey - breakfast followed by shoulder and neck massage in Elemis Spa. Cabana and another massage on the return journey as well as lunch in the CCR - and not forgetting the champagne and 1 or 2 drinks All for 75,000 BA Miles as it was then and an Amex 2-4-1!

LHR-DEL-LHR in F for two ppl on a 241 in the 50% sale for 37,500, including the best service I've ever had on board an aeroplane full stop (on one of the legs), and a chance to say that I've slept with the King of Jaipur on the return route.
HKG-YVR-JFK in CX F(done twice) for 75,000. It used to be such ludicrously good value that I couldn't really complain when BA did away with the deal.
I'm now lukewarm on LH value in general, but have been really enjoying the European award savers. The US-Caribbean deals look amazing too, but I've not had the chance to use them yet.
The next thing on my list to try is one of the multiple partner ~25mi round round the world type tickets. For 200-300K these look good value if you feel like taking a month off and seeing a few continents.
