I want to book two flights for my friends from Sweden to Lhr. I live in the uk.

Can i just add them to my baec household account and then book tickets for then? I dont think they have any baec account already.

You can just add them as friends and family, no reason to add them as full-fledged household account members.

Interesting. So if I have a HHA with my wife, I can only use my Avios for me and her.

If I break up the HHA, we could also use our Avios to book flights for other family members?

You can book tickets for anyone outside the HHA by adding them to your friends and family list. No need to dissolve the HHA.

sorry bumping an old thread.

I am trying to book a flight with avios for my sister. I have added her in the family section.

However, I see no option in the booking flow to change to her as the flyer.

When I get to the Passenger details part of the avios booking flow the First Adult is prefilled with my name and I can't change it.

I'm clearly missing something obvious? How to I book for my sister only?

Normally there's a drop down to the various names on your list. I booked a flight for my daughter's boyfriend only last week, I had to add him to the 'friends and family' - but not to my household account as he isn't an exec card member. Go back into the booking and then I could add him as the sole passenger on the RFS booking. All very straightforward.

On the "Passenger Details" screen in the first box tick no for is the payment card holder travelling. In the second box you should be able to use the "Select passenger" drop down menu, or just enter her details manually.

I can book a ticket for someone using my account, however when I log in to my mother's account I can only book for herself.

It is written:
Why can't I change these details?
There are some situations where you aren't able to make bookings on ba.com for other people if you aren't travelling yourself.
To make this booking for someone else, please contact your local Executive Club service centre.

What could be the reason of it? The account is not part of HH.

There is now a restriction on redeeming flights for Third Party.

If there is only Retro Claim or Avios earned on partners, then restricted to only able to book redemption flight for Account Holder only.

I thought to do a dummy award flight booking. Whatever I tried i got top of page message which I never saw before

1. dion't know why
2. possibles
i)No BA flights, avios activity since my TP year reset on 9th Mar 2017 (unlikely)?
ii)Last BA metal flights were July2016 , last avios credits (from MH) feb2017
iii)Changed my address to philippines 18months ago (so i would get my new BA member cards). Maybe IP range of Philippines stops me booking awards ?

"The itinerary you have selected can only be ticketed by mail. To book this trip, please start again and re-select a later outbound date or contact your Service Centre."

Historically i only redeemed AMS-LON and vice-versa, tried those as well as Asia flights on award, all produced same warning/refusal info message

Your mother can book through Call Centre. Only can't do it online.
Also adding to HH will not allow you to use those Avios Online.
