Thanks I am, in fact I've just bought my first pair of gloves which aren't linked together by string and don't have a place to write my name

Could be worse, a member of the team is coming in from Mumbai

2011:

Lows - some real nonsense to deal with at work; fortunately it worked out mainly ok and things are much better.
My dad being in a home.
Terrible tragedy in a friend's family.
Highs - Little Fruitcake doing well at school and generally thriving.
Being part of a happy and secure marriage - thanks Mrs Fruitcake!

2012:

Lows - am hoping for a better year in 2012!

Highs - hoping to achive gold status for one year only (Mrs F and Little F also)
Looking forward to Olympics, pleased London have them and we have some tickets.

From JFK airport AA lounge Terminal 8 Gate 12, beautiful blue skies, Happy New Year everyone!

Depends on the time of year, in May/June there are often bears around the trails near the village - mostly in the open spaces between the mountain bike trails. Later in the summer they're not as easily spotted. Maybe they get fed up with all the tourist traffic and go somewhere quieter

Congratulations on both of these... Mr HH is in the same boat, and hoping for a miracle drug to pop up. His humour is firmly intact too

2011
  • great skiing holidays ^
  • grandmother died of cancer
  • made redundant with an OK package ^
  • found a new job in Switzerland in September that is much more fun than the old one ^
  • MIL died of cancer
  • Mr HH's cancer is back again ... maybe it'll be third time / 3rd person lucky for a cure
  • Sense of humour firmly intact ^

2012
  • first flight of 2012 = op up to F
  • more skiing planned in US and CH
  • Mr HH is fit and well (other than the lurgy bubbling away) ^
  • Mr HH's new car needs running in while he is away skiing for the season...RS5 and we live 20 minutes from the German border = autobahns
  • great colleagues and a great house in CH...looking forward to really settling in there
  • just got GUF2 TP's done...some fun ahead planning where we'll take that

You don't to go to the wild to see bears, at the base of the Sierra Madre mountains in The suburbs of LA you see them frolicking in the swimming pools in the summer, it happens to a friend of mine.

You NEED you glasses even if the snow is very high, when the sun comes out the reflection of the rays on the snow and the buildings is blinding.. So take them by all means. I never leave home without my sun glasses.

And ^ ^ to BERbound and Heckenhoker for your great attitude. You inspire me. May your experimental drugs work.
