do we now have to read italian?

just got an email from James Hillier which starts

Le presentiamo una novità che arricchisce ancora di più l’Executive Club.

Is this part of the T and C of the International Airline Group that we all have to be multilingual?

If anyone else got it I would love to see a translation

This sounds familiar... (and like a computer error)

A few years ago I got a snail mail letter from the BAEC..... in Spanish! Not having a word of Spanish in my vocaubulary, I rang BA to ask what it was all about - they denied having sent it (despite it being personalised).

As it turned out, I had the letter translated and it was along the lines of: "So so so sorry for all the catering shambles over the summer (it was the year of catering strikes). We see you haven't flown as much with us and won't be reaching the Gold tier again, but we're renewing you at this level an an apology for our little howler with the on board food - or lack thereof).

As it turned out, I got my Gold card renewed. But never a letter in the Queen's English to tell me.

Just got the same email. I like the way it starts "Dear Mr ..." and then switches to Italian.

Same here. English followed shortly afterwards. It's about the new e-magazine.

Maybe its the Avios language.

Some say 97% of BA are speakers of the language.

I'm pleased to say that this embarrassing error does not appear to have filtered down to Silver Members of BAEC.

Perhaps it is assumed that Gold Members are poly-lingual?

How embarassing: I have to confess I actually slipped down to Silver earlier this year. In my defence, I will be back up to Gold in a few short weeks

I'll change my status and get my coat....
