Award Routing Change After Departure....Possible?

Award Routing Change After Departure....Possible?
I doubt it's kosher, but there is no way to change the routing on an award, (with whatever additional fees,) after departure, is there? I booked my father LUX-BRU (LHR stopover) one way, and now he wants to skip BRU and just come back to LUX. I'm assuming I need to just buy a new ticket, correct?
