MFU on miles booking

I've looked for the answer for this, I really have, but can't find it.

I have a flight booked to the USA, going out in Club and back in First. The reason for this was down to the amount of miles I held at the time of booking.
I've now got enough to upgrade the Club booking to First, am I able to do this within the rules of the system? It's an Amex 241 booking.

Thanks for any assistance.

I'm pretty sure you can't upgrade a 241 booking once made but you might be able to cancel the reservation and then rebook it in F both ways (subject to availability). Suggest you call BAEC. Good luck.

OK let's try again...

Yes, I think it's fine and they won't even ask you for the extra miles as you're such a great guy.

How about that answer?

And it is also the truth... Not that you are a man but that you can only cancel and rebook (providing there is availability) and not 'upgrade'.

Oops, sorry. Typical male here. I couldn't imagine a name like 'GogLobster' being the fairer sex. Great name though.

Oh no!
I don't want to do that because we got the last award seats and they may not come back into the system if we cancel.

Damn! But thank you for confirming the facts.

Best of both worlds. You get to experience both premium classes and you will have some miles left. All good.

Agents can now upgrade an existing amex 2 for 1 subject to availability without the need to cancel and rebook. Must be done over the phone and you will be charged additional miles and taxes etc plus service fee of gbp30 p pax

Almost certain you can

Agree with cbagent - my friend upgraded a club 2-4-1 return to first (OB) for a the additional taxes and miles. He is flying out today in 1A/B.

Yes you can upgrade over phone (and change date / time of flight if needed) providing there is availability. Have done this multiple times.
