Although BA does indeed have to comply with NY state law, I believe that they should adjust their lounge operations so that each full, fare paying passenger has the lounge access that they have paid for.
There's wine in the Club Kitchen onboard, should we ban minors from using that?

I was IDed in Asda a few weeks ago. I was buying Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Madeira and she asked for ID. I said 'sorry I don't have any'. 'Bring it next time', was her rebuke.
Got IDed in Tesco with a group of thirty-something males, we were buying booze for a party, we just laughed and said 'id for whom?'.

We are heading back into the area of "Club Class ticket but too young for the lounge" thread that did the rounds after my unescorted 15 year old son was booted out of (having gained access unhindered) the T5 GC. It's all about age and booze... (we think...)
PS, he was invited in and stayed in the BRU lounge before his (very delayed)BRU - LHR flight yesterday ^

BA should have let the poor lad in. He has paid for a service so it should be delivered. If there are rules around bars for under 21s then BA should have a seperate area so these people can go to

I expect that the number affected by these rules to be too small to justify. I don't see why they can't offer a voucher in such circumstances however like at T5C.

Maybe. But if the number of passengers are very low, I can see that t would be disproportionate to offer a separate area, presumably policed/manned, when it's rarely needed. Instead they could offer a voucher (for a happy meal or some such... )

It's more likely that the occurrences are so rare it really hasn't been planned for. Certainly the couple of occasions at london that I am aware of vouchers were issued. I personally don't think the total rearrangement of some lounges to account for waiter service for all alcoholic drinks would make sense either to BA or to the vast majority of customers.
