An “official POUG” is defined (for the purposes of this wiki) as the rate that appears in red on the MMB/BA app. It is NOT the rate offered at the airport (please see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...ng-thread.html), or the rate offered when you click on the “Upgrade my class of travel with money” link from within MMB, or the “Upgrade to the next available cabin” blue/grey banner in the app.
Please add to this list as required, and include the month/year when the POUG is offered to you.
LON to Europe from ET to CE (typically £59-£69 for Band 1, £69-£79 for Band 2, £79-£89 for Band 3 and £89-£99 for Band 4):

Not sure this is the right topic, but I see someone asked for it on the last page
Would you be so kind to tell me the availability across classes for BA0025 on Friday 30 November, 2012, 18.40?

Thanks a lot. Seems that WT+ to CW opup is pretty far fetched...

About three weeks ago at BOM, was offered an upgrade from WT+ to CW for INR 31,500 at the check-in desk. Declined the offer in the end. At the end of the flight, spoke to another passenger in WT+ who said that she had been offered GBP 75 to downgrade to WT. I guess they were very keen to shift people out of WT+!

Honestly, can't see many people jumping at that though when the fare difference between WT and WT+ is double that.

I've been offered POUGs on every single one of my recent flights booked in discount economy. £69 each way to Paris (well, it is the city of love... *ducks* ) and £79 each way on multiple flights to Zurich and Vienna.
The only time I didn't get it (when the OH was on the same flight on a reward ticket and I didn't fancy sleeping on the sofa ), I kept being pestered about it on MMB, on every single email I got from BA about the flight and on the iPhone app, right until when I checked in. Lucky me?

WTP to CW $650 at airport. Was not showing online because I had upgraded another leg from WTP to CW using miles.
Did not take the airport $650 offer, just flew WTP. But my miles have not posted (says: "reward booking"). Ugh.

Cash upgrades at T1
Sure it has been posted elsewhere, tried recently to get upgrades on LHR-AMM and LHR-TLV routes at the airport.
When LHR-AMM was with bmi this was easy and available quite often Y to C, LHR-TLV from T5 used to be easy to get WT to WT+.
Now they are in T1 they are no longer available, I asked why, thinking it was more to do with busy flights, but same answer and more than once kept coming back - they no longer have ability to sell upgrades on the day until they sort out operational procedures and system upgrades to enable that. They all mentioned how much additional revenue they were losing because of the delay. They hope some time in coming 6 months to have a fix for it, but until then no cheap cash upgrades on the day at the airport
It is something to do they said with the system for long haul flight upgrades only allowing one-level up and with no WT+ they cannot upgrade on the system WT to Club!. Seemed strange as I was offered a pro-active upgrade on-line to Club Europe for £79 on a LHR-LYS sector and that is a T1 flight too - so why they couldn't class these mid-haul flights as euro-flights to get round it is a bit beyond me. But the explanation I was given may not be correct.
Anyways, long way round to say that ex-LHR on long haul from T1 it looks like cash upgrades on the day are no longer available, but will be at some stage. Coming back from AMM-LHR cash upgrades were still available so it is all a bit weird. Be interested to know if anyone has had a POUG offer on these routes - I used to on LHR-TLV - but now no longer.
Come on BA, please get cash upgrades on T1 up and running. I am often prepared to pay extra on the day, it fills their empty seats and I get a bargain, but won't pay upfront the usual high price for a relatively short flight.

Sorry, newbie here.
I´m booked on BA93 (LHR-YYZ) on December 5th in "S" (sold as marketing flight IB7XXX) and I´m Iberia Plus Gold (Sapphire). "Y" is completely sold.
Any chance for being upgraded to WT+? In case of overbookings, do they offer a pre-paid UPG or rather make free UPGs at the gate (like it happened to me in BA850 LHR-WAW)?
Thx a lot

They will normally try to get some money out of people by offering paid upgrades. If this doesn't clear enough people, they will start op-ups, but you are well down the priority list for this, behind all BA Premier, Gold, Silver, and non-BA oneworld emeralds. So I would not suggest you get your hopes up.

Not sure if this is appropriate for this forum subject, however I'm also privileged enough to be a nominated staff travel user with J priority on a standby basis (subject to availability once check in closes) and I have to say that I've considered for a while the POUG option plays havoc from a staff concessions point of view because traditionally one could check the actual flight loads for a particular flight and plan a travel itinerary around flights that showed a good J availability on the basis this would be a dead certainty of a comfy seat. Now of course with POUG there is no way in telling who might be tempted at the last minute to something more comfortable. Earlier this week I flew DXB-LHR on a J priority staff ticket where I could see 13 seats available in J on the intranet site all the way until T-48 yet at T-24 the entire J cabin was sold. Some last minute upgrades J-F eventually materialised 2 seats in J so I was lucky on this occasion, however being a fare paying passenger also, I do appreciate the POUGs when they present themselves. It's just a good eye opener for me and I cannot blame BA in making additional revenues on what would otherwise be empty seats or opups. Staff travel is a privilege and not a right of passage and nothing has taught me that more than when POUGs were introduced.^
