An “official POUG” is defined (for the purposes of this wiki) as the rate that appears in red on the MMB/BA app. It is NOT the rate offered at the airport (please see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...ng-thread.html), or the rate offered when you click on the “Upgrade my class of travel with money” link from within MMB, or the “Upgrade to the next available cabin” blue/grey banner in the app.
  • All POUGs earn full TPs and Avios for the upgraded cabin, subject to the original booking being paid for with cash.
  • POUGs *ARE* offered on Hand-Baggage Only fares, if available
  • POUGs only become available after 48 hours of making your booking, until any time up to, and including OLCI. After being checked in you will not be offered a POUG.
  • POUGs do not seem to become available for travel agent bookings, until 2-3 days before departure (YMMV)
  • POUGs cannot be requested from Service Centres, except that occasionally BA.com will not proceed with a POUG online and display a message inviting you to call the Service Centre to complete the transaction.
  • After a POUG has been purchased, the ticket become non changeable and non refundable, apart from government taxes.

Please add to this list as required, and include the month/year when the POUG is offered to you.

Is there potential to develop a Wiki to this thread summarising the current offers?

I'm currently booked LHR - ATH in ET and ATH - LHR in CE for later this year. Is it possible to get POUG on the ET leg or is it likely that this won't be offered due to my return already being in CE?

Could be offered any time, although I reckon OLCI is most likely in this case. Probably £99 for the sector.

Depends on how full the flight is, but I like the WT+ cabin.

How long should an online claim for missing TP from a paid airport upgrade take? Been over 3 weeks now and I want my extra 30TP!

As someone who prefers doing stuff online/email rather than phone, this is an exception. I haven't had much luck with the online claims - sometimes they go through, sometimes they don't.

I now just phone and the points invariably appear in 2-3 days (although they always tell you it can take longer).

Every time I try online they say they can't do it - so I just call through now.

Think I might go for it. The Mrs is a terrible flyer and it will probably be better for her.

LHR - NRT CW->F JPY 68750 (£458) - offered at OLCI
Odd that the upgrade was priced in Yen as the outbound leg of a LHR-NRT-LHR trip...

Seemed good value for the extra miles and points and that it's such a long flight.

Was it booked via a Japanese travel agent? If so then any upgrades are usually offered in that currency.
