BA to resume Sri Lanka flights on 25 Nov 10?

According to Wiki, British Airways to resume Colombo service, effective 25 November 2010. Can anyone confirm if this is correct.

Who knows. Wiki is not exactly The Times. Personally I'd be delighted as CMB isn't the easiest place to get to from the UK for business.

Rubbish flight times (sometimes with a transit in MLE) hilarious fares, crappy cradle seats, no in seat power and planes full of leisure travellers getting pissed.

Going via the Gulf means a transit and some equally nasty flight timings, via India is just hassle and via SIN only works one way.

As I say. A crap place to get to on business from the UK. A direct option with a flat bed and in seat power would be very welcome.

Maybe from LGW, to send the new 4-class 777 there when it is not going to MLE?

Can't see much demand for F on that route.

If this route is to start, I think it would operate from LHR.

Well, Wikipedia shows it as LGW. But yes, I think that if it actually happens it actually would be LHR.
Now if only BEY would restart...

Perhaps not with RJ at LHR (and the BD codeshare?)

Just as they said the other day the CUN route would be from LHR! Why are you relying on Wikipedia - they're almost as bad as the Mail for news!!

Strong rumours of more long hauls coming to LGW. The North Terminal is undergoing lots of refurb and I've been told there will be another Pier built soon with an underground transit link to the terminal. So would make lots of sense for BA to continue to expand the long haul network at LGW. Though I think we need to get more feeder routes from Germany, Spain and France - most of our flights to these destinations went to LHR a couple of years ago.
