I really feel for the sake of your blood pressure you should get on the phone to BA and see what they can offer. They will have far more options open to them than you might imagine. Give someone else your problem!

Hope the holiday works out and you keep improving! ^

Originally booked JNB-LHR in WTP on 22nd.

Told, by gold line, re-routes only available on VS which is full and not through other hubs, i.e. MAD. I don't know if this is as other carriers don't offer premium economy?

Now re-booked on the 23rd, which means missing out on another day's pay, as per the "weather" cancellation ex-SFO in January.

Having read this thread, I'm going to call this morning and push for a re-route on the 22nd...

//(Rant on)// First, I had a lot of uncertainty about whether I'd get back from DXB to see family for Christmas. Then, following more uncertainty about whether I'd get to SFO for holidays, the return was cancelled due to weather (48 hours before, and even though the other SFO flew that day). Now, it looks as though I'm stuck in LHR when I need to be in JNB. Plues, I don't know if my fiancée will be able to visit me in JNB for Easter! This is getting unsustainable... //(Rant off - thanks, had to get that off my chest!)//

I noticed that Dubai flights were one of the least affected by the strike and 2 out of 3 daily flights still operating.

Yes, just the 767-operated flight cancelled with the 777 anyway now replacing the 747 on the BA106/7. Interesting as loads still seem very variable...

Nonetheless, I blinked first and cancelled a DXB for the subsequent period...

I had hoped, given the supposedly strong yields, JNB would be operating but sadly not!

I would suggest you call up asap and asked to be moved to the Orlando flight - not ideal - but at least only a 4 hour drive away. Not first either - but I guess club would be better than nothing.

Parents originally booked WT+ out 19 March to TLV back 26 March. BA cancelled outbound but return leg fine. They've been rebooked via FRA on LH instead on the outbound leg. Said BA couldn't have been more helpful

I'm booked out BA001 next week and that's fine. Return leg from JFK 26 March looking fine for now. Happy days.

From my perspective, BA handling things really well. I need to be proactive about keeping in touch and up to date but they're giving me lots and lots of information I need with very little effort needed on my part. Which is very impressive, I think, given the circumstances.

4 seperate tickets booked SZG-LGW on Sunday with Expedia.

Gold line unable to offer a flight via an intermediate airport (SZG-FRA-LHR was open), however have rebooked us on MUC-LHR direct with Lufthansa.

I've cancelled the fully flexible SZG-FRA-LHR that I booked myself and AVIS will allow me to return the car at MUC for a small charge (which I can hopefully recoup, along with the taxi fare to LGW to pick up my car from the valet parking there). I booked with AVISBA - any chance that BA might pick up the one-way dropoff cost?

Club MFU BA285 LHR-SFO cancelled. Called Blue BAEC line this morning at 07:35. Waited for 25 minutes. What would I like them to do? Transfer me to BA85 YVR which had no MFU availability? 10 seconds later Club to YVR. Saves me an internal flight, allows me to leave later and get there earlier. Thank you BA. Now just don't cancel the 85.

I've got a BA143 to Delhi on 19 Mar (club MFU), that seems fine. My return is on BA256 31 Mar (also club MFU), which I am worried about given the outbound plane for that flight is on the last day of the strike. Given other people's success in changing flights around the 2nd part of strike dates, I called my local exec club helpline (Cyprus, alas no special Gold contact telephone) and was informed that BA were not changing flights until they were actually cancelled. So I was told to wait until next week when the schedules are published. Which is contrary to the experiences of a few reported here.

Unhappy

Yes i was told the same when i phoned about my LHR-MIA flights, the person i spoke to said they were unable to change me onto a different route but they could cancel or rebook what i have for a different date. I even rang back later thinking i might get a different response from someone else but all i was advised was to hang on to my booking a wait to see if things get resolved. Thanks for the replies to my previous rant, you're quite right my blood pressure is in danger of escalating if this doesn't get resolved very soon!!! mind you it did shoot up earlier when my husband suggested we cancel the whole thing and go on a driving holiday to scotland instead!!!! oh my god what a nightmare, with two kids in the back saying "are we there yet" every two minutes!! no thanks!!

^ to you first lines in both the US and UK. Had two flights on 21/3 cancelled, Italy to LHR and LHR to California. Got my flight to London from Italy rebooked on IB, and my connecting flight back to the US rebooked on BA/AA. Got through in less than two minutes each time I called, and the agents were helpful and willing to look into most options. The routing isn't ideal, and I have to leave Italy the evening prior to when I was scheduled to go, but I guess I can't complain too much about the outcome.

According to the you first people, there is a list of carriers that they will rebook people on, including non-OW carriers VS and LH. It sounds like most int'l carriers are in play, and the only US carrier in play is AA.

Finally, sounds like it'll be easy to get back on my original flights when the strike is cancelled -- I'll be very surprised if I'm flying through MAD, LHR and ORD to get home.

Theres an option to get them to Transfer you to AA LHR-MIA there are
also dozens of other TATL BA alternatives, Via DFW/JFK/EWR/ORD/BOS/MEX/MCO/TPA/ATL/PHL even YYZ and YVR : AA is a Partner of BA with lots of US-MIA Connecting Flights.

Not the nightmare you are contemplating.

By positioning the aircraft out to operate flights from outstations where crew are as they can't strike as they are not in the UK.
