Lloyds Avios Rewards Credit Card - T&Cs Change

I have the Lloyds Avios Rewards Credit Card Mastercard only, which was converted from the old Amex/Mastercard duo in June last year.

Yesterday, I received a letter from Lloyds advising of an upcoming change to the terms and conditions of my "Lloyds Bank Platinum Credit Card", with the card number of my Avios Rewards CC shown.

The letter only refers to T&Cs relating to the credit card itself rather than anything to do with the Avios earning part.

Did anybody else receive the same letter? Should I be concerned the product shown is not the product I have or is it a sign the Avios Rewards element may soon be a distant memory?

I got the letter too (as well as others for the rest of my Lloyds / MBNA credit cards) ...

They didn't highlight any obvious changes - so I couldn't work out what was different.

I think the Avios earning is not a core T&C, that's why it wasn't mentioned - at least that's what I'm hoping !

Most important thing I checked for on the exBMI/MBNA card was that foreign currency transactions were still free. They are.

Yes, i checked that too !

I think it also suggested that Foreign cash was commission free as well (on the ex BMI card) - I'd forgotten that they changed it a while ago.
Although probably better to keep purchases and cash on separate cards.

Got an email today from BAEC stating that the partnership is ending at the end of May 2021 and that following that date no further Avios will be awarded on these cards.

Hi,

Got a letter from the bank saying the card will become a cashback card only.

Regards

Down to the Barclays tie up presumably, they don't want Lloyds giving out Avios any more...

Didn't think this was new news, sure I'd seen it reported on Moneysavingexpert already...

The question is if Barclays will offer an Avios earning credit card? Im which case the loss wont be quite so bad.

No credit card. A 12pm bank account that gives you a joining bonus and miles every month. Earn more points by buying more Barclay products.

And a bank that is probably out of reach for a fair majority of those of us with the Lloyds Bank cards at the moment due to income requirements.

Best non Amex alternatives are now the IHG Mastercard or Sainsburys Credit Card.

Opted for the former myself as OH has a Sainsburys CC and the app is appalling!

They aren't giving much notice to withdraw a service.
