Well that is very sad, the 747 to MEX was one of the last really long haul routes and given the unique factors for MEX it is especially sad. I guess we're left with CPT and JNB but it's still very sad to see it go from MEX. I wish they had honored the 450 PRG-MEX F fares, would of loved to have done that flight in F and visited Mexico City.

According to my reservations, the new Rio route is a 788, not a 789; so it surely must be a typo. My CW bookings in December and January were on 772s but are now on three-class 788s and I'm in the front row. You can also see from the sales schedule that F disappears in late October and returns in late March, and they have already down-graded many F bookings during that period, as can be confirmed by posts upthread.

GRU goes 77W.

Maybe people who were in F can request to be routed via GRU and then onwards with JJ to GIG?

expert flyer shows a 788 operating the route, so indeed, no F. at least frequency has increased ...

Well, if you are referring to the 9 RR powered 777-200ER (4 Class) G-YMMG to G-YMMP, there was a discussion in another thread where one member suggested they were scheduled to be converted to 3-class during the next round of upgrades. I have no idea when that might be. If, indeed, they are going to Buenos Aires in their current state, perhaps that is good news the F PAX but the WT+ PAX have absolutely nothing to look forward to, as the general state of the cabins are very tired.

Great, although repercussions from the stagnant economy and, recently, Eloise Dixon may mean the planes are empty.

I think there's only a Y service between GRU and GIG
