Well, all things considered, this is a good result in my circumstances. I was balking at the fees for CW and WT+ on the 772 as they were beginning to show their age (especially WT+). Yes, this route is expensive but I guess that stems from it being a monopoly direct route to LHR. There are only 5 flights per week and any other option would have to connect via GRU or an EU airport.

My 241 in F has been changed to CW on a 788. No comms from BA (surprise surprise) only thanks to FT did I log in and check MMB. Also showing on MyFlights.
How on earth they're going to deal with my GUF2 I don't know (this was a 241 that was GUF2'd to F)

On routes like this (and in general really) BA would rather skim the cream than take a carton of watery milk, so to speak

I've had this exact situation with a 241 + GUF2 end as "error in my favour" before. I got the GUF2 back with a full year validity, and random extra Avios (the difference between CW and F).

According to routesonline, a 789 is scheduled from 29OCT17 on the route 6 times weekly which should bring back F too.

Sorry, I meant about the replacement of the 772 on the GIG route, with a 788, not 788 announcements in general.
So, is this the first announcement about the route, and they've made a typo by saying 789 instead of 788? Or, is this the second announcement - first was to 788 and now to 789?
