Hotline Tickets questions
Have a friend who is now working CC for BA.
I have asked her these questions but the assembled company on here may know the answer quicker.
She's offering to get me hotline tickets and I'm looking to take her up on the offer on a trip to MVD in autumn and have some questions.
The itinerary I've found is on BA, but is a codeshare with BA flight numbers but is Iberia metal, is the hotline ticket applicable on these flights?
Assuming you still get Avois & TP for these bookings?

You get the usual TPs and Avios, however you can't upgrade with Avios this is absolutely not allowed. Which cabin are you flying? I know with AA the Hotline does not usually discount, not sure if it covers Iberia longhaul. It does on shorthaul.

It would be J class. I wouldn't use it to upgrade with Avois. But if it saved lets say 200 it would be better than nothing.

Is there anywhere I can get more info about hotline tickets? I have a family member who is CC but never thought about this. I could ask him, obviously, but my guess is he won't know much. He's the type who doesn't look into things till he needs to.

I've used Hotline a few times; it is good for short haul and is often great value for CE. Madrid this summer was 143 on BA.com and I got for 77 on Hotline... On longhaul average savings less, and when you see a great WT+ it can't be UuA so you will be travelling in that cabin only.
However, proactive upgrades do appear often after 2/3 days

You definitely have to check the hotline fare against the published fares available to the public, because in some instances hotline is not cheaper (due I suppose to dynamic pricing / magic algorithms).
I've used hotline for Iberia bookings without issue. TPs and Avios credited as normal.

Ask him to check on the Intranet, it's all there and fully explained.

I wouldn't recommend anyone using a friend / family's Hotline if there was any possibility of any "funny business" i.e. dropping legs, trying to breach any rules etc. There could be severe consequences for the staff member which are not worth it for a saving of a few s
