Arrived back to LHR from Vancouver on 22nd March. Not flown since.

I have no further info on why or where it is at LHR, or what the plans are. Someone may come along with the answers in more detail?

IVD was towed to the Bealine Base at 2100 on 3/4/20 where it has remained ever since.

City of Coventry.

5 queens going to Kemble in a week. So sad to see these beautiful birds go.

And here she is on climb-out from LHR. Apologies for the poor zoomed-in shot from my study window.

That would be G-CIVL, as above.

CIHY reporting that CIVN and CIVI are currently being stripped at LHR prior to being scrapped.

Does anyone have an insight or an idea on how many 747s will be left by end of year seeing as the acceleration has kicked in

Quite a few of the B744’s are being stored at present in the hope the environment bounces back quicker then expected and they can return to service. However if the predictions of a slow return to normality come true, I would be surprised to see any B744 fly for BA on a commercial basis again.

What actually happens will depend on how quickly things get to a new normal, and what that new normal holds for air travel. Some are predicting that they will all go. Others are saying that when things resume BA will have no four engine planes left in the long haul fleet (i.e. A380s gone too!) Others think that BA will have some. It's all just a lot of navel gazing really at this point. Try asking again in a month! ;)

Thanks for the replies RB211 and Pilot 37. So this now begs the question, if demand rises slowly as many have predicted and when it does rise back what fleet will there be to meet it. Also with the 380s IF they do retire do they down gauge with a 350 or 777x top up? But like RB211 said, this will be clearer in a months time
