Not at all, dear boy. Anyone is free to purchase those tickets at the advertised prices and with the advertised conditions. It would be discriminatory if they said "these prices are only for UK citizens" but the price and conditions are dependent only on the origin and destination of the flight, not on the nationality, residence or citizenship of the purchaser or traveller.

It's purely an issue of market expectations and competition. To cite another example, I can buy an I class DXB-LHR-JFK return for less than LHR-JFK-LHR and changes and cancellation are permitted for a hundred quid.

So if I change an I ticket, bought during a promo, with 300 EUR change fee to another date with I availability, do I just pay the change fee or is the ticket re-calculated on the actual I fare?

It depends on the precise rules for the fare you purchased, but generally:

- before travel has commenced, the fare is repriced at current levels
- after travel has commenced (e.g. changing the return leg), the fare is repriced using historical fares in force at the time of ticketing

Assuming all other fare rules are still met, e.g. min/man stay, etc.

e.g. PAR-NYC in December

It is discrimination ... second degree price discrimination!

As per my post in another thread:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...w-lay-out.html
and as many others have found out; flying from other airports to LHR then on to USA can save a fortune. There are a lot of threads about quick turnarounds (very easy at AMS): fly LHR-AMS; get out of the gate; turn around; board the same plane back to LHR and on to final destination. In CW this can save you GBP 1000 easily. On your way back from the USA, have your checked luggage labeled to LHR, "miss" your connection to AMS and voila you are on your way home. Some FT'ers think this is against the rules and will protest vehemently about this (mis)use of pricing rules.

No, they are probably more likely to be concerned they'll be flagged for an audit and have all their Avios 'enhanced' away.

Quote: I've got an I class ticket and I know that theres a lot of restrictions on it, can't upgrade, can't change date/time of flights and can't cancel. BUT does anyone know if there are any ways around it so that I could cancel without losing the whole/large sum of the fare that I paid for it?
It looks like you could achieve this by either committing suicide or murdering a travel companion:-
Code:
   CANCELLATIONS
     ANY TIME
       TICKET IS NON-REFUNDABLE.
          NOTE -
WAIVED FOR DEATH OF A PASSENGER AND PASSENGERS
           TRAVELLING COMPANIONS
Otherwise, what's the point of the airline writing in a "no refunds" condition if there is a simple workaround?
