Easter 2010
Easter 2010 is the long weekend of 2-5 April.
Now ... I think we are agreed (aren't we?) that a reward flight needs to be taken with 12 months of the original ticketing date.
We are also agreed that most awards can only be booked only 330 days out?
So, on this basis, if I want to book an F award at the current reduced redemption rates for Easter 2010, I need to:
a) book it before 1 May 2009 to get the 200% F price and avoid the LH 10k surcharge
b) book it for a travel date no later than March 2010 because of the 330 day rule
c) pay the 20 change fee at some point in mid May 2009 to get flights that cover the 2-5 April weekend, with an acknowledgement that if I can't get seats for Easter then I must take the outbound before 1 May 2010
Anyone spot any problems here?

I just panicked as I thought I was reading the BA forum, and had missed some F reduction sale!
I dont believe there is a steadfast guarantee that a change wont result in a reprice and hence higher mileage. What bmi says now and what actually happens is not always aligned. You dont however have anything to lose (other than change/cancel fee).

) you can book an LH F award earlier than that. As soon as availability appears on M&M it IS bookable via DC - you just have to be persuasive.I can see F award availability on LH on 9/10th April 2010, now.

Apparently LX release 340 days before - so that's an option too (just)!

I can confirm that BMI is able to book LH flights 350 days out. I have just got 3 seats to DXB for 1-10 April 2010. (I used the M&M site to check availability before booking as ANA doesn't show that far out.)
Feel that fuel surcharge and the new higher UK APD - 370 in taxes per person! This is definitely correct as the M&M site shows the same.
So ... if you want to book LH F for next Easter at the old F rates, you can book it now.
Booked with Neela in record time, I'm pleased to say.
PS. We now have family in Dubai, which is why we're going for 9 days. I wouldn't do so long otherwise!

You get a beer if you make it to a London Do! Although, in the end, I booked J seats because I didn't want to impose our (will be) 27 month old on an F cabin for an overnight flight.

Just to let you know that thanks to you all I too have managed to book LH for April (easter weekend) one way SIN to LHR via FRA. 2 Pax in F.
Steep on the miles (no M&C) but what the heck.
Thanks to your posts I was able to "persuade" Rafat at the ICC. This morning, there was no availability when I was booking the outbound (see seperate posts), but on calling back, following some digging on ANA and armed with the advice here, I was initially told by Rafat that there was no availability, then I pushed with the flights and and and M&M quote of "availability is showing on M&M" which led, miraculously, to the flights and classes suddenly becoming available.
Many thanks, had I stuck to the 330 days, I would not have been able to book this until after the multiplier had gone up to 2.5 x plus the 10000 surcharge.
Many many thanks.

However, I believe all the dates apart from the first one, were supposed to be 2010
