Name Changes on Ticket
Hi,
Just been on the phone to the customer help desk and to be fair they haven't filled me with confidence. Booked flights to Palma in July for May 2006 before the birth of my child and didn't know the sex or name of the impending bundle of joy so booked it under Baby. Their response was just to turn up and it should be ok. they took a note of his name but should i be worried that i won't have a ticket for him with his name on it?
Does anyone have any experience of this? I am going to be at Heathrow tomorrow should i speak to someone at the bmi desk?
Cheers,
Paul.

I thought this was a joke too.
Congratulations by the way.
As long as you have a passport with Baby's real name on it, I should think that wass the most important thing. If worried, I'd ask CS at LHR to write something, including bab's name, in to the PNR - that should be sufficient.

Congratulations ^
And also ask the CSR to give you a printout of the PNR info with those details.
Oh and maybe on boarding the FA will say to your little one: Welcome to bmi-Baby.

BTW can anyone tell me why a name cannot be changed on a ticket? If I cannot use a ticket I cannot transfer it but have to cancel.

Hi,
Please ring the reservations line back up at your earliest when you no the name of your new arrival, they will need to print you a new ticket off with the babies name on it, this can be done at the airport but the details will need to be put into the booking first.
