Well, yes, that's what I will do in case I can't get A3 to match me. But starting as A3 Gold would make things a bit easier.

I can see that some people on this tread has been matched to Gold by A3 - but how this has been requested ?

I can't find an email address for A3 or miles&bonus - any hints ?

Regards,

El Puerco Volante.

Did you need a HK address for this to work. Do you have a link to the offer.

I have addresses in SH, HK, and BJ that you guys are welcome to use, but please email me (rather than PM). Also, I can't envision myself mailing out cards; if you come over to these parts, I can give them to you, though.

Yes, I used a friend's HK address. The offer was detailed in this blog post: http://loyaltylobby.com/2012/04/13/s...ina-hong-kong/

It takes up to 2 months to get the card according to their e mail so wont know till then. However common wisdom on here is a 3 year validity at least providing 1 flight is credited within that period.

Smile TK Elite Card

Happily matched by TK to Elite from DC Gold. Looking forward to trying their nice lounge in Istanbul.
Does anyone know how long the card takes to arrive in the UK. Travelling just after DC * benefits run out. Hopefully it's quicker then A3 which seems to take around 2 months. Many thanks

Mrs F is similarly a refugee from DC and would also like a status match. Just keen to know, before she applies, whether anyone here...

1) has been successfully matched, but has never flown TK to date (and not made promises to do so in their application)
or
2) has had their application rejected by TK - and reasons given, if any

Many thanks

Strategic timing of the TK match?

So it seems that TK matches the status for 2 years since match date, right?

Since I've got another *G card expiring in February 2013 (and BMI Gold expiring shortly after), the best time to match would be in Jan/Feb 2013 I guess. Any flaws in this strategy?

The only issue is we dont know how long the likes of TK and A3 will routinely match DC gold - on my A3 match it was listed in my account as BMI 2012 Status Match Campaign which suggests it might have a cut off date althouigh this is obviously just pure speculation. Why not match to A3 now anyway for up to 3 years star gold as a back up then try to match to TK at a later date?

I've never flown TK before and got a match from DC*G. Their decision to match me makes good business sense in my opinion because now I will consider TK in my east-bound long haul options where I would never have done before.
