Avis in Denver
What is Avis in Denver like overall? I normally rent with Hertz because I am a Southwest Rapid Rewards member and they are offering 1.5 RR credits per rental instead of the normal .5 credits. I have never had a problem with Hertz customer service or their vehicles.
I'm also a Costco member and entered their AWD number as well as a coupon code and received a rate that was $20 lower total than Hertz before the coupon was applied. I noticed with Hertz, they automatically apply the coupon on their webpage and show it factored into the rate. With Avis, it doesn't that so I'm not sure if it will be taken. Also, is a 4 day, 4 hour rental considered a 5 day or weekly rental with Avis?
I definitely need no less than a full size car (going on a fly fishing trip with 3 other people) but don't want to automatically be upgraded to a 12mpg SUV or minivan. I hear this is happening a lot these days.

I normally head to Denver 2x year during ski season. Avis has always been good to me there. Cars are clean, normally get an upgrade. I'm the opposite of you, when I reserve a mid-sized SUV, I hope, and usually get the full-size SUV. Helps with all the gear.
Can't help you on your rate questions. My experience is if the website takes the coupon, you shouldn't have any problems. Bring a printout just in case.

Ha!
Nope, its a 4-day, 4-hour rental... I can't remember where the threshhold is, but I've been dinged for twice as much money for not keeping the car an extra few hours. Usually informing the Avis desk or worst-case scenario calling 1-800-AVIS and they will change the rate to weekly for you.
