Avis Lax
Ok, I am a Hertz PC Member and rent weekly out of LAX for about 45 weeks a year. I have noticed that there is an AVIS/DELTA promo for 5,000 Skymiles per weekly rental. Hertz never seems to have really decent promos with Delta, so I am thinking of switching to AVIS to take advantage of this promo which I believe runs until the end of the year. Can anyone here fill me in on the level of service at LAX? Also, does AVIS have some kind of status challenge based upon status with another company, such as Hertz? Hertz has been basically flawless for me at LAX, and don't want to switch for Skymiles if there are going to be service issues. Thanks to all!!

All that said 5000 miles per week is worth taking some bad service.
I don't think there is any challenge but Avis Preferred is free anyway. Avis First does not seem to get you too much more other than the free weekends.

An insider has confided in me that their lobbying to corporate has paid off. They're getting the dollars to bring more than a dozen new shuttle buses and drivers online (18 more than they had last month).
So, the shuttle wait for AVIS at T1-7 that most people have come to know and love at LAX will become a non-issue and on-par with Hertz.
I'm flat to see they took my feedback under advise in streamlining the 10-15min approach to the AVIS facility.
