avis first reward - eMusic credits > are you using them?
This came up quietly in a different post ... but i'm curious if anyone actually uses their eMusic credits after each weekly rental?
i TERRIBLY MISS the days of the iTunes credits and for the last year or so of getting the eMusic credits, i'm at a loss of what to even use them on.
i'm dumping them to friends whenever i can becuase there is nothing out there.
anyone miss those old iTunes days ... or at least recommend a few decent artists carried on eMusic?
any rumors out there of new weekly rental benefits coming down the pipe?
I wish i could trade them back in for a weekend rental ... i find them pretty worthless.

HA!
me2 ... it's pretty funny how worthless that eMusic site really is.
I cannot find one legit band that i would care to grab music from.

I have actually grabbed about 10 or 20 songs from there. Even some more unique stuff (trance, don't ask) with little problem.
Can't say however that its the best reward I can get, but its just slightly better than the proverbial sharp poke.

I was laughing out loud at your responses.
I even tried to forward them to my little sister-in-law (college) thinking that she is more in touch with the music scene and i could be "cool" to give her the free music.
I basically got a response that said "eMusic? ... ... is that all classic rock tunes or something your generation uses. That site sucks. Keep your coupons."
I actually forwarded it to AVIS and told them that while i appreciate 5 eMusic tracks a week ... 1-2 iTunes tracks would blow away in usability.
... no response.
In any case, i did get a kick out of how consistently worthless they are.

In general, Avis First is terrible program. I have never used the free weekends nor the free music. I wish that Avis First, etc. was something more than just a crappy front end with crappy benefits. It would be nice to build up points to use for upgrades, rentals, merchandise, etc.

I don't think its terrible. It does offer a free upgrade and if you use that dashing smile, after a few times at a single location, you can usually get more than that.
I am really not impressed by the free weekend coupons. Since I rent every Mon-Fri, I find them hard to use. I'd rather have coupon offering free rental days. If they find the weekdays more valuable then offer a point system where weekend rentals are 5 points and weekday rentals are 10. Else, my 6 or 8 or whatever free weekend coupons are going to sit there unused.

I won't download the software required to redeem the E Music songs.
Absolutely worthless.
Avis rates are much higher than Thrifty.
Avis service levels are about the same as Thrifty. (Avis used to be better)
I rent less and less from Avis.

Feel free to send me your eMusic credits!
Use the Private Message function under "Quick Links."
I will gladly accept the gift of eMusic credits.
While eMusic doesn't have the variety of either iTunes or Amazon.com's MP3 service, I have managed to find music there -- some obscure -- that I liked.
Thanks in advance for sending the Avis codes!
