Thumbs down Happy First Anniversary???

Just received the following e-mail from Avis for a year on Avis First:

"As we proudly arrive at the first anniversary of Avis FIRST™, I'd like to personally thank you for being such an important part of this program's success. To help celebrate, please enjoy this exclusive gift that puts you FIRST: 2 FREE days of where2® GPS Navigation with a minimum 5-day rental. Thanks again, as always we look forward to providing you with the best rental experience possible"

What a JOKE!!!

I think I'll switch to Hertz, their program cant be any worse.

Hahahahahahaha... They must be joking!!! I got mine today too.

If anyone needs a better offer, go to Hertz and get two days of NeverLost with no min/max rental days.

http://offer.hertz.com/offers/index....25312181336131

And this was supposed to be an Anniversary Gift - not an Anniversary punishment!

Three thumbs down:

I generally only read/post in the Hotels and Airlines forums, but my "Happy First Anniversary" email from Avis made me venture right over here today.

So ... my gift is to entice me to purchase an additional product from Avis?????? B/c I only get 2 days free if I rent for 5 or more days.

Wow! Maybe it's time for a divorce.

I mean, really, I don't think I even get the free weekend every 3 rentals anymore (not that I could ever use them all.)

A nice anniversary gift would have been a free weekday or two ...

Yeah- it's not a gift. It's a 40% off coupon- I'd never give anybody a coupon as a present.

First iTunes went away, now this.

Indeed, it is unworthy of a vanilla email coupon, let alone an "anniversary" gift.

Got the email also. I also didn't think it much of a gift and it went straight into the trash.

Do anyone have the email address of Sarah Bergeron, Director, AVIS First. The sender of this wonderful Anniversary Gift.

I'd write her directly at 6 Sylvan Way, Parsippany, NJ 07054.

I plan to write her and this is only one of many points that compares unfavorably to Hertz #1 Awards program. Hopefully, if enough people write they will listen and adjust.

Ive been using Avis pretty religiously for the past 20 years. For the past 2, I was looking for an excuse to investigate other rental car programs. I have found the Avis First program equal to getting ice in the winter. Especially since I live in the NY metro and can't take advantage of the free weekends.
This GPS coupon has put me over the top.

Does anybody have any info on how I can get status from another company if I move?

Ah, another spam Anniversary gift from Sarah Bergeron, but at least now she calls it "an exclusive offer" instead of "Anniversary Gift":

Get $40 off a weekly (5+ day) rental on a premium vehicle and receive 10 FREE eMusic downloads.

So now she expects us to go out and celebrate our first year anniversary with renting a premium car for a week. *great* (not)

I agree this is a total joke....I'm done with Avis. After my rental in YUL last week where I didn't even get the car type I reserved I had my corp travel dept switch everything to Hertiz. The fact is Avis does not try harder...they don't even try.

I found the contact info for the folks who oversee this program if you wish to drop them an email like I did. Avis First is really Avis second....

Sarah is out on leave according to her out of office. Her email is [email protected]

Thank you for your email. I am currently out of the office on maternity
leave returning in early May. Please contact one of the following people for
