Assigned: Ford Fusion Titanium (my favorite!)

Select & Go had the usual boring cars--Cruze, 200, Jeep Liberty, Chevy Captiva, and a few others.

I also had a full size reservation for the weekend on a weekend certificate just to see what i would get, and I received a Chevy Captiva. I didn't bother canceling it or anything (as i normally don't), and two days later, I got the invoice emailed to me! They charged me for the rental that I never picked up! So I emailed customer service and am waiting for my $37 and reward certificate to be refunded...

Couldn't agree more! I love the higher-end Fusions (with or without the hybrid package). The manager in ATL last week couldn't figure out why I wanted the loaded Fusion Hybrid instead of the MKZ, Taurus or a (well worn) Infiniti G. (The MKZs in the Avis fleet have fewer options; Taurus isn't a fun to drive and doesn't have a lane-departure system; the G was old/smelly and feels very outdated.)

Ugh. As I've found out, you're best to call and cancel your reservation as it's much easier than hassling them for a refund.

glad you agree! The Titanium is just so well equipped and comfortable. My only two complaints would be that this particular one didn't have a sunroof as my last Fusion Titanium did and the mileage wasn't all that great. I averaged about 27 mpg over ~950 miles, of which over half were round trip Houston to Dallas. I guess in actuality it's not too far off the EPA estimated 22/34 range given i was driving quite fast on the highway and accelerating a little aggressively around town. A hybrid would certainly make that MUCH better.

LEB (West Lebanon, NH) - booked a mid-sized, got upgraded to an Infiniti Q70 with 8K miles. Woof! I had to be in the car for over six hours the next day, didn't mind it one bit. I get a 2-class upgrade if available due to status from a credit card, but this was above and beyond. Kevin, the agent on duty, was extremely helpful as well, and had offered to stay after closing to make sure I got my my car one evening - fortunately it turned out to not be necessary.

A QX70 is a great score! I think it's my favorite SUV in the fleet. Unfortunately, my wife has been with me a few times that I've had it and now she wants one!

This was the Q70 - the four-door hot-rod sedan. I'm really happy for cruise control, as it was waaay to easy to speed in that car.

CAUTION: Because of the GM recalls, many vehicles are offline until they are fixed.

Location: LAX
Status: CHM
Booked: Intermediate
Assigned: 2014 Chrysler 300
Asked for: Any Cadillac
Received: 2014 Chevy Impala LTZ

LAX is starting to get stingy on me. Talked to an agent who said he gave all the CHM that day a 2-class upgrade... never thought this would be an issue at LAX. By the time I got there, the lot was virtually empty. It's alright, I like the Impala, but still.

Location: BUF
Status: CHM
Booked: Intermediate
Received: 2014 Cadillac XTS4 (do they order them any other way?) + XM activated
Miles: 6000 (better than 12K in the XTS next to me)

Easy peasy. I've noticed though that they never have sunroofs.

Nice. Headed to BUF this week with a full-size reserved as a President's Club. Hoping for something like this or a BMW 5 series.

Ugh, Infiniti and their new names! I was thinking of the Pathfinder-like SUV.

I tried for an Impala LTZ in DEN last night but they couldn't find the key for it. Took the Mustang convertible for my short 14-hr rental since the weather was nice today.

I haven't seem the XTS loaded any other way at Avis. It's still a great car but not as sporty as I prefer. Buffalo seems to have lots of XTSs but rarely a BMW when I'll there.

They had a handful of BMWs ready today... a couple of 5-series, an X3 and an X5, and that was just immediately around the Preferred booth.
