Hi all,

I am looking for a 10 day rental in ATH. I went through many pages on this topic and around ~100 AWD codes :D

Anyway, I figured out that A888813 reduced the price quite significantly compared to the rest, but I haven't seen a lot of discussion on this. Do you think it is safe to use it.
If I use avis.be, I get a standard price for the prepaid rate, but the much lower one for the pay later option. Is this a sign that should worry me?
FWIW, the "Rate type" is Lowest and the "rate code" is G2 in avis.com when using this code (same price for both websites).

Any feedback is more than welcome. Also if you have any idea about coupon codes that may work, please let me know. I tried a couple but they seem to be applicable in the US.

Cheers!

Can anyone post an explanation of Avis' rate codes? For example DN, 8I, G2, etc. I've searched for this topic and I've come up empty handed.

I think $250 is a pretty good weekly rate from EWR. You didn't mention the car class you want, or how low you are trying to get to ? G417900 gets down to $231, but I don't think you are going to do much better than the mid $200's for a week out of EWR.

Don't use it. You will be looking for trouble and by all accounts you will be asked for Avis Employee ID and then denied the code and put in at a much higher rate. Use something else for your own good :)

what about A113400 State of FL employee rate-->EXCELLENT RATE!!
is this also a problem code?

This code is giving an out of the world rate. I am worried, will they ask for an employee id at the location ? Can anyone who has used it, verify if this will work without any relevant id ?

Have also used this one many times. Never been asked for ID. Then again, I'm Preferred and the only contact I usually have is with the exit gate DL checker.

I am also looking to use the A113400 State of FL code next week. The rate is crazy low compared to the huge list of codes I have on Avis. $25/day compared to the other codes $58.

How do you go about paying for your card and not having to interact and do check in? Any help would be appreciated. Not sure what will work. I'm in a small town. Afraid they may do thing by the book. Not like LAX or anything.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

You could always try "I forgot my ID"? ;)

I have something on my email reservation that says "Sign for Preferred". When I click, it says sign up free. If I do that, do you think I'll be able to pay completely over the phone and just pick up? Thoughts?? Probably will try. Sounds like a safe option to have no interaction regarding payment.

About the State of FL code, I was told it's been red flagged and almost every Avis location has been asking for ID. Smaller locations may be more forgiving but when it's such a dramatic rate reduction, that usually leads them to ask questions.

avid preferred

Someone above asked about Avis Preferred and not dealing with the counter. That is mostly true, but not so for the first rental under preferred. Also, in some places they require face to face, like YYJ. If your account is.already physically activated, then in mist cases you can walk right thru and just be handed keys.

Has anyone tried these discounts?
http://www.avis.com/car-rental/html/partner/cj/

There are some pretty good deals there, though some are expired and don't work anymore.

It's for Commission Junction network affiliates, so I guess it's free for all and no questions asked at the counter?
