Has anyone tried to redeem, and any details to be aware of? (with National 1-2-FREE a distant memory, is Avis's the only offer of this kind in the industry?)

Just redeemed via the app. Put in the code from my email when I started the booking. It is restricted to certain class types. I saw full sized car and down. It has a little flag for promotion on it while things like vans and suvs didn’t. Also my company AWD was honored.

Was worried it could impact my PC status upgrades but nope, got a brand new 2023 Traverse for a cross country holiday trip.

I don't think Avis free days from this promotion are allowed for one-ways, unlike National's version.

I only qualified for one Free Day. I received the email with the code which must be associated with my Avis Preferred number. I try to make a one day rental of Small - Full (only classes for which the coupon can be used) and it says. "Sorry! Your coupon discount won't apply to the rates shown here because a qualifying car type is unavailable. If you still want one of these cars, we will remove your coupon so you can continue your reservation." Now, if I don't include the Free Day coupon, the car classes ARE available. I didn't exhaust myself, but I tried multiple different locations and multiple different dates and I still get the SORRY message. I am booking for only one day, and the T&C don't seem to require a paid day in conjunction.

I am correctly trying to book pickup and drop-off at the SAME location.

Anyone else experiencing this? Do I need to call in or give it a few days?

Gave up and called rez. They were able to properly apply the free-day coupon.

Congrats! So no idea what's going-on with this coupon in their system? How long is consumer given? How many coupons might one rental accommodate? Could coupons be also used with saved points free days?

20 days total. It subtracted a single days price at checkout. I didn’t use points, but am also curious if that combination could work.

I completed second qualified rental Feb.1, and still haven't heard in re: FREE DAY I've now earned. I emailed [email protected] , and will update here. Anyone heard of any timeline?

AVIS only emailed today with a TUPAxxx code I can use for free day. Does everyone get similar code??

Terms and Conditions

Eligible customers must be enrolled in Avis Preferred and register for the Free Days promotion online at avis.com/freedays with a valid Avis Preferred/Wizard number and the email address on profile to qualify. Customers will receive confirmation of enrollment via email within two (2) days of registration. This promotion only applies to residents of the U.S. and Canada (including Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands). If registration takes place after the date the promotion begins, rentals accumulating towards Free Days will only be tracked from the first day of the month registration is completed (e.g. if the customer registers November 10th, rentals taking place from November 1 will qualify but any that took place in October will not be eligible for the promotion.)

Customers can earn one (1) Free Day for completing two (2) Qualifying Rentals at Avis participating locations in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands between October 5, 2022 and February 28, 2023. A Qualifying Rental is defined as a paid rental consisting of a minimum of two paid consecutive days’ base charges. Customer must reserve an Intermediate car class or above.

Customer can only qualify for one rental if multiple rentals occur during the same timeframe. Reservations must be made with the enrolled Preferred Member/Wizard Number.

Qualifying customers will receive, via email, a monthly statement containing a coupon code valued at the number of days earned the previous month. A maximum of five (5) Free Days can be earned each month. These rewards can be redeemed online at www.avis.com or www.avis.ca. The number of Free Days associated with each coupon issued must be used on a single rental and cannot be combined or used with other coupons. Unused Free Days will not carry over to future rentals. (For example, if a customer redeems a 5-day coupon on a 3-day rental, he or she cannot to apply the 2 unused days to a future rental.) Blackout dates and other restrictions apply.

By enrolling in the Free Days promotion, customer accepts that reward day coupons will be sent to the email address provided at time of registration.

Rentals made with any of the following discount codes or profile types will not qualify for the promotion: corporate accounts that do not allow employees to participate in reward programs, Avis WEB/GEB accounts, employee rates for Avis or any affiliated company or licensee, government, travel industry, tour, wholesale or convention rates; rentals booked on Priceline or Hotwire, rentals that receive mileage/credits/points for a frequent traveler program (i.e. airline frequent flyer, hotel points program, etc.), rentals using a Free Day(s) coupon.

An Avis Preferred Wizard Number can be obtained free of charge by visiting avis.com/preferred. To qualify for Free Days, use the email in your profile to register.

The rental day reward coupon is redeemable on an Economy (Group A) through a Full Size (Group E) for rentals completed by May 24, 2023. You must use a valid Wizard/Avis Preferred number when making a reservation using a Avis Free Days coupon and all free days associated with the coupon must be used at one time. Coupon is redeemable at participating locations in the U.S., Canada, PR and US VI excluding New York, NY Metro area. Taxes, concession recovery fee, customer facility charges ($10/contract in CA) and fuel charges are extra. Optional items such as LDW and other surcharges may apply and are extra. If the rental period exceeds the value of the coupon, the renter is responsible for any additional time and mileage charges. Coupon cannot be used for one-way rentals. One coupon per rental and coupons can be used only once. Offer may not be used in conjunction with any other coupon, promotion or offer. An advanced reservation is required. Offer subject to vehicle availability at time of reservation and may not be available on some rates at some times. Holiday and other blackout periods may apply. For reservations made on Avis.com or avis.ca, Free Day will be applied at time of rental. Avis reserves the right to alter the terms and conditions and use of coupons. Avis reserves the right to refuse or expire coupons at any time without prior notification. Coupons cannot be applied to completed rentals. Renter must meet Avis age, driver and credit requirements. Minimum age may vary by location. An additional daily surcharge may apply for renters under 25 years old. Coupons have no cash value, are non-transferable, cannot be exchanged or returned, are non-refundable, and will not be replaced if lost or stolen.

Promotion terms are subject to change. Avis reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate or suspend the promotion in the event the promotion is incapable of running as originally planned.

I couldn't apply it on-line (On-line: standard reply was "no corresponding car class available" no matter what location I tried) it was easily applied over-the-phone. Result was a total of as low as 30cents on rental day from local branch.
