Avis employee’s steal!!! They do not return your items if you leave it in the car they just take them. Then they tell us it’s nothing they can do about it! Smh not trying to see who was responsible for clean out the car or anything. It should be a way to see who was responsible for cleaning out a vehicle and reporting the status of the vehicle to someone before being released. This happened at Houston hobby airport and is not acceptable.

Best way to not lose things is to take them with you when you leave the vehicle (or hotel room, aircraft, taxi or whatever).

Left my Sony 1000X bluetooh headphones worth over 300 USD at the National counter in Madrid. Well got called back by Eugenia (lovely young woman running the show that day) shortly after I left with the car and she kept them safe for me for over a week, and gave them back to me with a smile when I gave back the vehicle. But just finding honest humans is already hard enough.

There is no suggestion beyond OP's assertion that "employee's steal" (sic) here. We don't even know whether it is a cold 1/2 hamburger or $300 headphones and we don't know how OP knows that an employee stole anything.

For all we know, the next customer is quite happy with the extra equiptment !

True enough, in a legalistic sense. But do you actually think the OP is complaining about a cold half burger? Or were you addressing the jury in your opening comments?
