I thought AAA has an 'exclusive' partnership with Hertz, therefore no AAA AWD with Avis ... I've certainly never seen anything from AAA about Avis.

I've never heard of a AAA discount with Avis, only Hertz. I thought Hertz was exclusive too.
The United discount is nothing special....usually 5%. The airline discounts (and just about every airline has one) vary depending on location and sometimes the time of year. Occasionally, there are specials which increase the discount %. The only way to ensure you have the best rate is to run every discount number you are aware of for the place/time of your rental.

I am not aware of any AAA AWD# for Avis either. Only Hertz.

Wow just knocked 40% off a rental in Italy with the BA AWD #. In addition, somehow discounted price also includes CDW, Theft protection and Tax. Amazing...
In Italy the AA AWD# works second best. The rest really dont help.

I'm not sure why, but I know that the BA number has changed recently, though that one listed does still work, everything from BA now includes a different number.

Just used the BA number posted above (BA33510) for a rate quote in Lisbon and it came up about 20% cheaper than any of the others and it also included the tax, which comes in at 17%. Also included CDW so it looks like the AWD # for BA is still working. Can you combine an AWD # with dollars or Euros off coupons as well?

For use in SFO and IAD, which of MileKing's codes seem to give the best percentage discounts?
This seems to be the leading thread on the topic:
