Anybody know what USA code is for??
I read somewhere in my travels around the net that Avis has a USA code. I entered it into my rental for my upcoming FL trip and got a $30 a day rate for a midsize rental. The usual rate is $44.99. With the D002807 rate code it gave me $33.99 a day.
I didn't follow through and book it as I don't know what's it for or if I would be shot down when I got to the Avis office.
Any help would sure be appreciated.
Thanks

The code is actually US and may be some kind of government rate. It certainly is a pain to use. Somehow when I use the code the rate disappears and the "rack rate" goes in it's place. My Prefered CC was billed automatically and you have to get a refund IF have a print out (even if you catch it at check-in). They probably want you to use a government agency CC to get the rate but other people may have different experiences but many people have been talkng about the rate.

I assume the US/USA you are referring to is a rate code? I am not familiar with that.
A friend of mine is goverment employee who subscribes to Goverment Executive and found the following AVIS AWD codes.
A555004 Gov't Emplyee-Official Business
A555091 Gov't Employee-Leisure Pass
The first one requires travel papers. The second one could require a gov't ID if asked. Don't know how either one works in practice but these may be helpful to any gov't employees who may not be aware of them.
