Done with Avis
Today was the last straw in a long line of AVIS major problems. Landed at ORD with a preferred reservation. Get to the lot no stop at the preferred desk just to the shack. Walk over look for my name, nothing. Not one person working the preferred desk, in fact it's locked. Walk back to the main building with 40+ people in line and 2 AVIS employees that's it. Needless to say I am not happy. Call the 1-800 line and everything is OK with my reservation. Agent suggests I talk to someone @ ORD in person. I tell them great, but the line is at least 1-2 hours long. Agent says sorry nothing they can do. He then suggests I call CS......... OK I say transfer me but then he says they are only open M-F not weekends AHHHHHHHHH
Long story short AVIS once again dropped the ball big time. They had NO cars at ORD today. No personal working the preferred desk and only 2 agents working the normal desk. I walked over to HERTZ and rented a car in less then 10 minutes.
I am done with AVIS!
Rant over thanks for listening

Make sure you follow up with a letter (not email) to Avis explaining the same thing. Tell them you are not looking for compensation just that you want to explain why you will no longer be a customer.

unfortunately, I've seen this many times. A lot of places don't have the Pref booth open on weekend. I guess their thinking is that most preferred people are business oriented & travel Mon-Fri. Phl used to be horrible for this, but I haven't been there in about 2 years... thank god!
