Lifemiles Devaluation

I have been monitoring pricing. And Lifemiles has just increased it's award pricing for 25%~100%.

For example, TPE to HNL:
Economy 27500->55000
Business 48000->100000

That is 100% increase. This is insane. I have searched more than 50 different routings and almost every routing increased.

Yeah I did some quick searches and see it too
JFK-FRA LH
Economy 35,000 -> 40,000
Business 69,000->80,000

SFO-TPE BR
Economy 47,000 -> 50,000
Business 90,000->100,000

Intra Asia seemed fine eg. TPE-NRT

I'm seeing redemption rates higher than on UA with very limited J options, plus a total lack of availability on a number of airlines worldwide.

Looks like they have started adding hefty tax/fees to Europe - US flights too.

Hawaii has gotten slaughtered by every program. AA/AS now charging more for asia routes from HNL than from the mainland

I just saw an F seat from ORD for 120k. Can't find a biz seat from anywhere for the life of me

Which airline/destination? I'm just seeing $28 on top of the $25, which I think was always there? They will add on a bunch of cash if you don't have enough miles, is that what you're looking at?

short US routes 6500 → 10k
TPE HKG J 15k → 35k (133% increase!)

The TPE HKG thing hurts, it's my most frequent route and I often used AV miles for this which were a screaming deal at 15k for BR J, that has been entirely demolished. Good thing there are still options with CX at 16k.

This devaluation wouldn't be as painful if LM weren't also blocking a lot of seats. Do we have any intel as to whether it's LM or the partner airline that's doing the blocking?

NH first class seems to be available again, after being clearly nerfed a day ago. LH first class also works.

Based on my experimentation, it seems that LifeMiles can't see any business awards across the Atlantic or Pacific regardless of carrier. I am able to find transborder business class on AC, but not transatlantic or transpacific. Japan-Asia and Japan-Europe business class on NH, but nothing touching the US or Canada or Mexico. TK business class to Europe and Asia, but not transatlantic. No UA Polaris. Etc. Of course I am looking for flights that are bookable through UA, AC, etc.

Is this also true when you restrict the search to the relevant airline instead of 'Smart Search'?
