Long layover at ICN - will I get my bag back?
Hi all - first time Asiana flier on PEK-ICN-JFK in a few weeks. My connection in ICN is 12.5 hours overnight. Will my checked bag be held for me or should I collect this on arrival at ICN?
I’ll likely book an airport hotel so wanted to know before I got to the airport so I know what to put in
my cabin bag.
Thank you in advance!

The last time I had a long layover like that at ICN was pre-pandemic. The bag was checked through to my final destination - I'm pretty sure it would still be now, though you might be able to persuade them to check it to ICN if you prefer. If in doubt and you need to plan where to pack things, you could check with Asiana directly.

Most likely your bag will be checked all the way though. While ICN airport makes re-checking really easy, it'll be much easier moving around with just a backpack or small carryon.
