OZ introduced extensive bi-literal codeshares on ICN-TPE a while back, and since China Airlines and Korean Air will co-operate through Skyteam from now on, this was a pretty obvious move. OZ likes to copy KE strategy as often noted on this board.
As OP says, always good with more alternatives, but unfortunately no status miles until BR joins *A next year (or later).

Still it goes to show that OZ is already moving forward to increase cooperation with a future *A member; I don't think we'd be far off if OZ became the sponsoring member for BR.
