Wouldn't mind going into Colombo if I had too, only there for one day and night so don't want to travel too far. Would like to be able to organise a massage.

hi
we did a similar stop-over (timewise) to yours.
At the airport (well, within 5 mins) is the Taj Airport Garden.
We stayed instead at Negombo, which is beachside, and about 20 minutes drive by car from the airport.
We stayded at The Beach Negombo - but check carefully as there are two by almost the same name (they are both operated by browns which makes it confusing!). The rooms were huge with great (glass walled) bathrooms, the beach had fine white sand, the staff freindly and the food and drinks were cheap.
If you use tripadvisor.com you will get the right one (you want #1). I believe they had a spa at the hotel. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev...o-Negombo.html
Otherwise I'm afraid its a trip into Colombo. With the associated security risks.
