What's Jakarta duty free all about? Can you bring in alcohol from Malaysia? I know you can't if you're going to Singapore, for example. Is there duty free available on arrival at CGK? That being said, can you take any alcohol to Singapore (in your checked bag) that, say, you didn't finish?

I can't seem to find a clear answer elsewhere on the Internets.

Semoga sukses, Garuda, on your entry into SkyTeam!

Has light rail construction started to disrupt traffic anywhere (say, by Dukuh Atas)?

It's more because I walk all over the place too. I've covered much ground in - to use/make up some portmanteaus à la bahasa gaul - JakUt, JakPus and JakSel, but the east and west have somewhat eluded me.

Though, since you too know the score jpatokal, do you think they're going to go through with it this time?

How's traffic in Jakarta these days? Been far away almost 2 years and plan to have short holiday back home next year :p Or do I ask a retorical question? :)

Doing a MR 10-11 May. How's the lounge situation for Star Alliance members? Lounge hours?

Traffic gets worse every year. It's not bad at 3am. ;)

All the lounges are contracted out. I'd say the quality goes from mediocre to ok. I've never done any runs, and I don't recall any lounge being 24 hours, but have never been in them between 10pm-6am, so just a WAG.

Welcome to Flyertalk!

I think the odds of them managing to insert a shovel into the ground are higher than they've ever been, but as for whether they'll actually manage to open the thing, I am most definitely not holding my breath. :(

A cape deh situation, for sure.

I'd like to think they'll start digging soon too, but every time I go by Senayan, the usual pessimism - in this case, in the form of incomplete columns - arrives.

Belum. But at least we've got "run amok" from there...

In truth there is some argument about the origin of our amok, usually resolved in favour of a Malay source. The evidence cited is that M usage matches more closely ours, generally involving an unexpected eruption of extreme violence from an otherwise placid individual who has masked any build up of aggression; while Indo usage tends to describe mob action.

Haha.. I wish MRT will help to reduce congestion once it is finished (not just a 'harapan kosong' :p). I heard there will be some kind of car limitation but not sure the reality is..
