Thanks for the suggestion. I ended up getting Aston at Kuningan Suites for about US$90 (flash sale) - reviews seem fine for what they offer.
I did have my eye on the Mercure Sabang, but would have needed to be 2 rooms. |

Is anything open overnight in CGK T2 Landside? Wifi?
All the info I can find is really old. Arriving 1AM Intl and depart 5AM domestic -- no time for a hotel. And what time do check-in counters + security open in the domestic terminal? |
Any suggestions for 6 hour layover?
Arriving T2 (international) around 1500 on a Saturday, and fly out T2 (domestic) at 2100. Both flights on GA, but will obviously need to clear immigration and customs on arrival. My previous transits at CGK have been much shorter, so I've never given a second thought to how to spend the layover. Seems a little long to just hang around the lounge. Thanks in advance :) |

Thanks in advance :) With those times and that time frame, I really wouldn't suggest trying to venture downtown. Though I suppose you could have a couple of hours checking out Monas (the national monument) and some air conditioned mall on Jalan Thamrin (a major thoroughfare near Monas), traffic coming back would be bad news. What time of year is this anyway? |

Thanks in advance :) There are lots of restaurants outside (KFC, etc), and I know the international part of the terminal (airside) has a massage place. It's been so long since I've flown domestic out of terminal 2, so I'm not sure what the current offerings are. Hopefully there is a lounge you could use, if nothing else. |

Kinda surprised an outlet mall isn't in the works for somewhere near CGK...then again, traffic around the airport these days is as bad as in Jakarta itself.

What time of year is this anyway? Flights are mid-December, so potentially will be dealing with a pre-Christmas rush on top of the usual chaos. As much as the lounges aren't ideal, they sound like they may still be the best option. I suppose as long as I have access to caffeine on all my layovers I should be ok. So many flights needed to get to SOQ! |
The traffic in Jakarta is unbelievably bad during rush hours. I think it is not a good idea to leave the airport as also pointed out by the others. Just walk really really slow when transferring from the International to the Domestic terminal :D

Yeah, I also figured downtown would be unrealistic.

Also, mid-December is in the thick of the rainy season...but that would more likely affect you if you went downtown. |
LON - JAK
Having got over the shock that there are no direct flights between the UK and JAK, even with a refuelling stop. I am now reconciled to having to change planes.
Which is better on the route: Singapore Airlines or Emirates ? Thanks. |

Going diving are we?:D. We will be there the day before flying out to Sorong at 1am Sat. Used my SPG miles for a bargain 3000miles for a short stay @Sheraton on both ends.
