How to deal with an expiring visa-free stay [in Kazakhstan]

I can stay visa-free for 30 days in Kazakhstan with my US passport. I assume that "30 days" means the date of my arrival stamp +29 days. Correct?

If I need to "renew" my stay, how does that work? I guess that I need to leave on day 30 (day 1 being the day I arrived). I'll have an exit stamp for that day. Then can I come back the same day or do I need to wait until day 31? I might be able to fly out and back in the same day.
