Landed last night in KLIA just before 11.10pm.
Took the train into KL Sentral and got in by midnight or so.
Taxi's wanted RM26 for a 10 minute ride to Bangsar. (it included the 50% surcharge).
Grab a Car was RM10 for the same journey.
With business going downhill, you would think taxi drivers would see how they could improve their income and perhaps ditch the surcharge after midnight (fuel costs are the same day or night, toll charges are the same for the distance covered day or night and the driver decides if he or she wants to drive at night or not).
I would have paid the normal rate of RM16 but not RM26 for the same distance.
As the grab a car drove past KL Sentral after picking me up, I could see a long line of taxi's waiting for passengers that they may or may not get waiting from midnight till 6 am...
