Advice needed! Minimum connection time at KUL
Hi,
First, please apologise if I am posting this thread under the wrong sub-forum, as my question it is not related to BA!
I booked a return PSA-DOH-BKK ticket with QR (J class), arriving 13:00 to BKK. Some plans have changed and I now have to get to SYD while being there.
I found cheap flights from BKK to SYD (via KUL) with MH, but only have two options:
- 17:10 flight with 3:10 connection in KUL.
- 19:00 flight with 1:10 connection in KUL.
My question is the following:
Would you prefer to take the 19:00 flight to have 6h in BKK in case something goes wrong with the DOH-BKK segment (as they are separate bookings), but only 1h connection in KUL (same booking)?
Would you take the 17:00 flight and have only 4h in BKK to transfer to another booking with MH (have to go through security again), but also a better connection time in KUL (3:10h)?
Thanks!

1:10 in KUL is fine. Having your booking protected should be preferable over the more relaxed transfer times. DOH-BKK is not the most reliable route, time wise.
