Hi there,

My wife and I are planning a 09 day visit to Burma in late August. If anyone of you on the forum have experienced a good company recently please adivse. We are keen on culture, people and archiology.

Is August the right time to visit Burma?

Thanks,
Tino

I just put down the deposit for a 12 day trip in November with Myanmar Shalom. You can use a credit card with them. They ar very responsive to my questions and answer emails promptly. They give you hotel choices in your price range in each city which i liked-many of the other just tell you where you'd be staying in each city.

Susiesan and Goldorak,

Thank you for your suggestions!

Already checked and enchanged via mails with the two agents you suggested. They were very responsive as you said. However, the two prices offered were a bit high. I am considering a very reasonable quote from Burma Senses. However, the name is still new I think. Would go round for some search before deciding.

Anyhow, thanks again!

The prices are high compared to what?
Care to give us some pricing examples? Maybe we can help you out further.

I didn't find accommodation charges to be low compared to other SE Asian countries, but other things were cheap, such as food, drink and transportation.

I just returned from an Asia trip that included five days in Myanmar (2 in Mandalay, 2 in Bagan, and 1 in Yangon). I used Exotissimo for the Myanmar portion, and they were excellent. Good planning advice upfront and seamless execution while we were there. All three guides were great, and they were flexible during the trip as we wanted to make changes to our itinerary on-the-fly. Great experience.
