Connecting in Taipei

Hey All,

Got an upcoming trip to Vietnam on China Airlines connecting in Taipei. On the way home, have a 55 minute connection in TPE from SGN to catch my flight to JFK.

From what I read, this involves changing terminals, and the flight from SGN looks like it lands consistently 15-20 minutes late.

Sounds tight to me, will I be looking at a mini-vacation in Taiwan too?

Thanks

With the terminal change and what you say about the inbound flight often being late, it's too tight IMHO. I suppose the CI flight is operated by Vietnam Airlines? If it's that one that gets in late in the evening, I know what you mean. It's been running domestic flights earlier in the day and has usually accumulated a delay by the time it leaves SGN for TPE.

Actually it doesn't look like its the VN codeshare. It's the earlier flight that gets in at 3:20pm, and my NY flight leaves at 4:15.

Either way, since the NY flight is only every other day, I guess I'll have a nice weekend in Taipei.

As of today a lot of flights now been transferred to T2 due to huge refurbishment taking place at T1, its comon practise to hold long haul flights at TPE for connecting as its easy to catch up, TPE has to be one of the fastest aiports in the world to transit at
