Just a note to thank everyone for the advice. I ended up taking a round trip on the reasonably priced Manuel Tienda Leon bus and stretched my legs around the port looking for places to eat. There are dozens of options at several price points. I chose one by the number of Spanish-speaking diners on the terazza and had a nice piece of dead cow and some great "vino de la casa" that would have cost 4x the price at home. A great way to kill a few hours between flights.
Hehehe... I see another low-priced offer from my airline so I might just do the same trip in a week.

Cheers,

Commander Bob

Thanks for the welcome!
I was thinking of perhaps spending some time to take some Spanish language lessons in BA but that may have to wait until next year.
I'm repeating this "Mileage Run" in a couple of weeks and won't be there any longer but thanks to the advice here and my first experience, I hope to make more efficient use of the few hours on the ground.

Hi C Boc,
you can allways take a private tour starting from EZE and going back. In this kind of time frame youll be able to go to The Delta, La Boca, Puerto Madero or even San Telmo. This would be more expensive for sure than Tienda Leon, but should be a good experience to change the program for next time...
Good luck!
