To Do at EZE?
 

I'm doing a Mileage Run through EZE and have about 7 hours to kill and no lounge access. Having read much about the long check-in times, I guess that should be reduced to 4 hours.:rolleyes:
Should I bother trying to get into town and back or just snack and have a cigar?
The dining options seem to be limited at the airport so even just getting away for a meal may be in order if I don't have to spend lots of $$$ to get forth and back.

Any ideas/advice?

I think it would be best for you to get into town... however, two private transfers to & from EZE will probably run you around AR$150-200.

What about Manuel Tienda Leon Bus ?

Is this an Int'l/Int'l connection (most likely @ EZE)? If it is after whenever the fee starts, you may be hit up to enter Argentina whatever the Canadi>ns charge for Argentinos for a visa. PLUS sums similar to what Gaucho mentions for transit (about $120-140 outbound, $80 return). That said, even if you wanted to buy a lounge day pass, the lounges generally all suck there. If you like chips, nuts and cookies, that is about what your meal would be in the lounges. The booze, however, is free. The entire departure area is pretty pathetic. The best food is probably the vacuum-packed raw meat counter.

If it was me, I'd probably take a taxi to San Telmo, which is on the EZE-side of the city center, have some lunch, maybe take a quick ride up to Caminito (La Boca) for a little local color, and then head back to EZE - you are on the side of the city where you have the easiest highway access and least travel time to EZE. If you want an inexpensive pretty good piece of meat at a place where eating alone isn't an issue, I'd recommend El Desnivel on Defensa (in the heart of San Telmo).

You could make it into the city, have lunch and back within your four hour time frame. There are many restaurants to choose from in Puerto Madero so even allowing for one hour travel time each way (should not be that long) would give you a couple of hours to enjoy the city.

Hi Bob:

A couple of years ago I was in the same situation. I found a B&B (don't remember the name) that was only a few miles from EZE. While it wasn't anything special it was perfect for us. It is very reasonable. Transfer us both ways without charge. Had a small room get a few hours sleep and shower. Had an adequate lunch and a small pool to cool off. All in all, just a good place to relax. If you would like I'll find its name.

There is this one place called La Posada de las Aguilas or somthing like that... will do a Google search and report back.

You could pay US$50 for a day pass into the United Red Carpet lounge but you would have to be desperate to do so. :D

I would go for the option samftla suggested.

In @ 11AM Out @ 9:10PM (Int'l to Int'l connection)
 

Facts:

* flying in on QF 17 (arr. 11AM), out on LA2428 to LIM at 9:10PM in business
* bags will be checked through since it's OW to OW connection
* I don't need a visa for Argentina
* have been to B.Aires before and spent about three full days, but that was exactly five years ago

What can I do for this odd half-day in B.Aires?

Thanks for all the suggestions! I had looked at the bus option but was not sure if there were any decent places to eat around the bus terminal. From what I can determine, as a Canadian I don't need a visa to enter the country and it would be good to stretch the legs and have some real food between flights.
Another option not discussed here (so far) would be excursions from the airport but I have not found any.

Could be wrong... but Ive never heard of excursions from the airport.... anybody else have feedback on this?
