Not to interfere (although it is my thread you are hijacking), but don't insult the fine wine I'm drinking tonight. On night 1 here, as I didn't sleep on the plane, I'm having a "home" evening of empanadas, alfajores, and a passable chablis that the supermercado had on oferta for AR$5.65 a bottle.
As for a $6 peso wine being passable.... that goes to saying what the average quality of the Wines of Argentina is like...

both categories have some stuff that is very well made, btw... ^
and regardless of rivalries... the irish, canadian and american all have examples of fine stuff, no matter what the Scotsmen will tell you... though Scotland is still the Mecca for these things...
as I understand it, whisky means water of life in Gaelic.
